The fourth-line, no-scoring-talent, pest agitators (or as we now call them, “energy guys”) have a specific job. Skate in, take a cheap shot, make it after the whistle. Make it against the rules. Stir something up. Put a wet glove in the other guy's face and rub it. Get the outrage flowing. Get the opponent not thinking about the game, get them thinking about your shenanigans. And what happens? The “victimized” team loses its composure, hitting back. The guy who hits second is always the guy who goes to the penalty box.
Watching Sarah Palin this week, and the reaction to her by both sides, and all the talk of hockey mommery, I realized that this is who she is. She skates into the corner, throws up an elbow, and the Democrats cry: “Foul!”
Only it has one more twist - the fans for Republicans can then act indignant (and secretly smug) because they're the ones whom are the underdogs, the one whom are being picked on. It's political jiujitsu at its finest as the Republicans have been practicing it since 1968. "Oh, we're persecuted!" "Oh, the media has it in for us!"
Meanwhile, Sarah, and the others like her have knee-capped a wingman and hemmed in a the defender up against the boards.
I only got half way through them last night. Nothing very big in her tax raising/budget increasing past as Mayor. The last pages - governing style and personal vendetta crap is a bit more interesting.
I think I have to go back to bed though. I need to get into work today and I am exhausted.
This might be worth watching. I hope someone in Obama's camp is on the ball.
And tomorrow, the IAEA reports to the board of governors about Iran. Funny, usually the bushies are pushing the imminent attack whisper campaign by now.
Interesting - Steve Clemons took down his post hinting that the Chinese were going to shoot down one of their satellites soon, which would cause a stir. Wonder what the story really is...
Went to see Babylon AD with the my wife and boy yesterday... a couple in the row in front of us were talking.... the Woman says, "I had no idea this movie took place in the future." The Man replies, "Yeah, I guess McCain won the election!"

Apparently the link cuts in and out...maybe McCain's camp finally has found the vetting docs?
Na.
Didn't you see me post this at TLC the other day?
This is where Palin toast, she was a member of the Alaska Independence Party! At about 6 minutes in.
Here's a counterargument:
