The Madness

Replace the word Reefer with "VP".

Tell me I'm wrong.

Drug-crazed abandon is exactly right. Yawn. I'd rather have the real thing.

Don't hold it against me, but I have to admit that I checked my cell phone first thing this morning.

I don't text and only learned how to send the number to them, so getting a text message (any text message) makes me feel.....cool.

Alas, there was nothing from the campaign.

Then I read that Chet Edwards is still in the mix. Wierd.

Not that it will make a lick of difference 'cept if it is an attack dog. I sure would like to see someone take it right to John McCain. Make him turn red and blow his top so that the whole rest of the country can see what I see when I look at him.

idios, you actually wondered aloud in the comment thread to my post this morning at TLC if it was sarcastic snark.

Now, I'm no Snark, our beloved co-hort, that's for sure. But me? Sarcastic? Wow, that hurts.

Isn't this whole thing hilarious? So many people thought it was today and I had a hunch and called my bookie and sure enough, he's got odds. Game On!!

Sometimes you just gotta sit back, break out the reefer, and laugh, Idios. At least my sarcasm got thru to SOMEone! This round's on me.

Glad to oblige, Jeff. And I'm sure it hurts as good as Mistress Elizabeth with a ping-pong paddle. :)

Anjha - I broke down and texted in too. I'm such a political junkie. And the day is not over yet - it's only 4pm Central. Obama could still pull a 6:05 surprise (EDT).

Oddly enough, I didn't touch the stuff until I was 27. I never was close enough friends with the people with the connections until then. Now if I wanted something, all I'd have to do is call up my mother-in-law or B-I-L.

No, I'm not kidding.

I read this twice...thinking you were still talking about politics.

Thought, hmmm, MIL & BIL are in local govt?

Duh...

subject of the post dumb ass.

I think I used it all up before I was 15. None since then. Perhaps this is why I cannot get things the first or second read.

Id, thank goodness for its availability, and the more the merrier! The stuff should be legalized, like, yesterday. Unfortunately the only person speaking out on it right now is Bill Maher. I don't wanna go off on a whole thing here, but there's nothing worse than hanging out with a really drunk person. I will never understand my country. No, really, for so many reasons, I will never get this place.

Go ahead and snap your verbal fingers if I suffer from an optimistic Friday after work buzz, but is there ANY chance of it still being Hillary tomorrow? Here in Illinois, once he announced his plans for a big who-ha in Springfield for tomorrow, everyone around here was sayin' "Well, do it in Springpatch, but if it's Hillary you'd better not announce it beforehand, because there'll be a million people tryin' to get down here in the middle of a full-blown media circus."

I meekly ask, do we know where Hillary is? Is there a chance she could be flying into Illinois? I've been away from the news and blogs the last few hours you can burst my bubble, I promise I'll stay away from sharp objects tonight.

Don't you agree that, from a Democratic Party pt of view, you HAVE to put Clinton on the ticket? It's obviously gonna be another close one (again...a populace with a very large percentage of people who actually think John McCain should be the leader of the biggest superpower in the world is impossible for me to understand....but of course we're already a fascist country, right, I've always had a problem with that political theory), why not just go balls-out at this thing and unite the party, hell, unite the Left, and just throw these bastards out of the presidential branch?

I'll shut up now.

You know, Jeff, it would be cool. Seems to me if it's anyone else, it's gonna be a letdown. Unless he chooses Gore, or Oprah or something like that.

BTW, idio, did you see the link for the Lance Mannion article I left for you in the Clone Wars thread? I think you'd get a kick out of his review of the movie. You thought you were a geek!

Coyote, put the link up, you know how to do that stuff around here, I have nothing but trouble, but I'm gonna have to take my boyz to see the Clone thing, I've put it off as fatherly possible.

Marc Ambinder at The Atlantic found what appears to be a printed Obama/Bayh bumpersticker, I'd link it but I don't know how. I need, like, an hour-long tutoring session in Google blogging. But take a look at it, does it look fake or not? Because if he fucking built this thing up to an operatically-pitched climax to introduce Evan Bayh to us, I cannot be held responsible for my actions within the following 24 hours.

Ha, Jeff, I always cut and paste the tags from TLC's comments cos I'm too lazy to type it out.

[a href="http://www.url.com/"]Linked text[/a] = Linked text

Just replace the brackets with the <> signs, and you're a go.

Here's the link to Lance's Clone flick review.

The sticker has been condemned as a fake - but to be honest, it's difficult to say why it is or is not. With a poor resolution sampler like what I have seen (the one link was to Drudge, which I won't touch), anyone could slap together a reasonably decent-looking sticker for Obama/Bozo the Clown (he is a Chicago institution . . ). Remember the anti-Clinton Big Brother video on YouTube? That was one guy whom wasn't a professional with one weekend's work. A fake blurry image is about 100x easier and quicker.

As to Clinton . . or any VP candidate mentioned so far, they're all less than exciting to me. I would much rather see Obama really make a choice that is a, y'now, change, from the current crop of Democratic Party Faces.

I'd like to see Obama choose some Democrat who's been competently working behind the scenes or pol in a large state legislature who's on his way up and is known for his competence and honesty.

But we all know that's not going to happen.

Id, any names with that cred? I love Feingold, but he's not gonna pick a progressive (the horror!).

I'm way to the left of Hillary, but the bitter divide between huge groups of the Republican opposition would be closed with a shared ticket, right? Wouldn't we have a better chance of stopping the Old Man? If the Dems take this election it will only make it easier for more progressives (liberals) to get a seat at the table.

I'll monitor the Chicago TV news stations, see if anyone has flown in. What time's the thing in Springpatch tomorrow?

iamcoyote said...

Do you think they'll send out the text messages early, so there's time to build a buzz and get the press in the right place? Both idio and Anjha are jacked in, so I expect a post the second you hear.

You have to admit, if they pull this off, it could be great. But it depends on whether the VP pick is worth all this hype.

Anjha said...

...Anjha are jacked in

gawd, that sounds really, really nice.

I would love to be jacked in.

Hey, I have been fantasizing for the last few hours. What if it is GORE?!

Could you imagine?!?!

Gore would be in charge of climate change and Energy policy. He is an International Rock Star. Well respected. Was President, just wasn't sworn in. Knows all about campaigning and fighting the voting BS.

Fuck. That would just rock.

Did I call it for Biden or what?

I don't know what all the fuss was about. Glad I missed it. Been on vacation the last week.
