Today, the Wall Street Journal reports that Alberto Gonzales is writing a book. Surprise, surprise. Gonzo wants to (cough) set the record straight about his controversial tenure as a senior official in the Bush administration. More importantly, Gonzo is writing the book "for his sons," because one doesn't always consider how their criminal behavior, at the time, will affect their children's view of them in the future.
"for some reason, I am portrayed as the one who is evil in formulating policies that people disagree with." I consider myself a casualty, one of the many casualties of the war on terror."For some reason? Casualty of the War on Terror? Give me a week Gonzo, and I will send you a list of of reasons why you hold a place of disdain by most Americans, and why you are under investigation for criminal behavior while Head of the DOJ.
The chapters on Bush's surveillance program, eavesdropping without court warrants, strong arming a sick man named Ashcroft (that one should make his sons proud) and other controversial aspects of the book, remain blank at this point. I'm sure as soon as that little investigation on allegations of political meddling at the Justice Department and criminal conduct is over, Gonzo can then fill in the blank chapters, and claim his innocence for his "sons."

For some reason, I cannot get a new paragraph created where it begins "The chapters on Bush's surveillance program.." Help.
Hope I fixed it for you Judith.
The perfect storm of this administration has been the gathering of the narcisistic who were given the keys to the WH.
Gonzales is invoking the ultimate insult here by claiming victimhood.
If you ever need to look for help just get into one of my pieces of work, view under "edit HTML", not "compose".
However, I always compare between "edit HTML" and "compose" before hitting publish.

Hell, all these fucker's are gonna be complaining of being a victim. And their will be enough wingnuts out there to defend them!
Thank you Seven of Six.
Gonzo sure has some balls trying to claim that he cannot understand why people hate him.
What makes me even more angry where Gonzales is concerned is that he is a trained attorney. This means that he has studied the law.
At one time, during law school, he had to have actually known what the law said and what the law means. Then, in his position, he undermined the law, broke the law, justified it all with BS opinions and then claims that he is some victim of circumstance. What a piece of shit.
We are nothing, nothing, nothing without the law. The law is what keeps us free.
Judith - great post!
Those who participated in criminal behavior, which is everyone in this Administration in one way or another, are all going to claim they were victims. What else would you expect from people who never accepted responsibility for their actions. I predict before this is over, those loyal to Bush and Cheney will rat their guts out to save their futures and legacies. That's what rats do.
Everyone will be a victim.
Everyone will be innocent.
Everyone will have been misunderstood.
Everyone will turn on their co-conspirators.
I have also read that Gonzo hasn't been able to find job since leaving the DOJ or a publisher.
I know I am not to delight in the misfortune of others, but YIPEE!
Let the Karma begin.

No kidding Anjha... Addington, Miers and him have done nothing but twist the words of law into their own interpretation to justify excutive branch law breaking. Fuck the constitution, right, I hope they pay and pay dearly.
Judith I added the link, hope you don't mind. Some helpful hints, go inside your wonderful piece and see what I did, use it as an example, you can't break it or hurt it or mess the blog up. When your done just hit publish again or exit.
Thanks Anjha. I'm learning.
and Seven of Six.
Perhaps Gonzo is going to now use the law (he found such disdain for)to defend his actions. I loved this part: "He says that while he bears responsibility as former Attorney General that “doesn’t absolve other individuals of responsibility.” There you have it folks. Let the finger pointing begin.
The Head of the Justice Department said he just "didn't care" about his misleading statements. Bet you care now fucker.
Off topic. I have for years thought the word was 'distain.' Low and behold, I just found out I have been wrong all my life. Duh!
Maybe his friend George can grant him a 'Pardon' before Gonzo starts telling all, because I definitely smell a rat.
It'll be years before we see any accountability, but these guys all need to be spit upon where ever they go.

Or perhaps an accident of some kind?
...but these guys all need to be spit upon where ever they go.
At the least shoes thrown at them!
Well, I guarantee you Gonzo isn't taking any small Cesna planes these days.

They only knock off the ones ready to sing. Gonzo won't sing - he is a loyalist, and he will be til the very end. He loves Bush and loves everything that Bush has done. He is one of those true believers who thinks that GWB is heaven sent.
Gawd those people creep me out.
They "creep" you out because they are tainted with the smell of death and destruction.
