Tugboats

Since I was a kid I've had a fascination with Tugboats....worked on one for several summers as a teenager and managed to have the best time of my life.

So, you ask, where could Mainy possibly be going with this that has anything to do with real life? Well, Foss Tug has just bit the bullet and built the first hybrid tug. A hybrid tug? What is the world coming to and is there no end to green power?

I'm linking to a favorite blog rather than the original article, just cause he's got nifty stuff for a boat person.

Wow. That is good news.

I am so glad to live in Seattle; the green capital of the country (excepting, of course, Portland - that has a far, far better transit structure.)

But Mayor Nichols has kicked ass in leading other mayors and cities in going green and reducing, reusing and recycling.

Cities all over the country are following the lead of Mayor Nichols. I heard rumore that Mayor Nichols might be pegged for a place in the Obama Admin...anyone else have any info on this?

That is sooo cool, Mainy (phew, that's waaaay easier to type).

Anjha, I've been out of touch for a while, haven't heard anything but weather reports. Steve Poole is now my enemy! And when did Rich Mariott get so old?

I can vouch for Coyote being out of it, she didn't even realize the Seahawks weren't in the NFL playoffs!

I didn't hear about the Mayor, but your Gov. Any good?

They are fab. And our State Legislature is 2:1 Democratic. That is why WA is doing better than many states with the economy so shitty. It is hitting here and we have budget deficits projected due to lack of property taxes because of foreclosures...but we are still better than most states.
